Three years living in North Dakota where there are no Salvadoran restaurants, the first thing I did being back in the Bay Area is get some Salvadoran food. My family told me about El Centro Americano Restaurante which is located in the Monument area in Concord, CA. I ordered the usual Pupusas revueltas and the other one was Chicharrón con queso. Also ordered some empanadas de leche and of course a Horchata Salvadoreña, the restaurant was nice and clean. The atmosphere was great with Salvadoran merengue music playing in the background, the waiter was very polite and took good care of us. Let's get to the elephant in the room, the food.. IT WAS DELICIOUS and very Authentic! Exactly what I always look for when it comes to Salvadoran food!

Excellent service and delicious, fresh food. I ordered the "sopa de pata" and the veggies were super fresh and crisp. Massive portion size, too!

I am glad to have found a new option for Pupusas in Concord. They also have others popular dishes from others Central American countries in the menu. I give it a 10 out of 10 for the pupusas that I tried. I had the Pork and cheese pupusas. The cheese was perfect!!! The place has easy parking and it’s clean. Go ahead and try it.

I've ordered from here twice so far and enjoyed it everytime :) The frescos de ensalada is my favorite thing to order there, i placed a big order that was fresh and smelled delicious so I didn't get to take pictures of it cause my family and I dug right in but very pleased with what we all got! Especially love the pupusas and the fried tilapia (mojarra frita) was well seasoned! Edit: Just tried there flan and it was yummy! A good price for the slice size too ;)

Sopa de res, Pescado frito, Carne asada Nicaraguence, sooo good! This is our new favorite place now, lots of parking, service is good, you have to be patient ,food is fresh so it takes a lil longer to get served but it is worth it, this place is going to out grow their location fast since food is so good ,prices are less than where we go in San Pablo and the other Salvadorean place in Concord.
